What is Your Dream of Freedom?

Good morning my dancing friends!

Every time I read or hear Martin Luther King's "I Have a Dream" speech I get goose bumps down my arms and tears in my eyes. The crescendo of excitement for me is the end of his speech..."When we allow freedom to ring-when we let it ring from every city and every hamlet, from every state and every city, we will be able to speed up that day when all of God's children, black men and white men, Jews and Gentiles, Protestants and Catholics, will be able to join hands and sing in the words of the old Negro spiritual,"Free at last, Free at last, Great God almighty, We are free at last.””. He had a dream of freedom and fought for this dream to the very end. Click HERE for the entire speech.

What is your Dream of Freedom? What needs to be freed in your body and in your mind? Dancing is one of the best ways to express your freedom and THE way for me to free up tension in my body and limiting thoughts in my mind. When I am moving my heart opens, my mind is free and I can freely express who I am. My Dream of Freedom is for everyBody to awaken to the FREEing power of dance to heal, to celebrate uniqueness, to come together as a community and to discover ones unlimited potential!

I hope you come and dream with me this week in my Nia and Yoga classes. Tonight in my 5:30 pm Nia class we will be dancing to MoodFood by the MoodSwings, celebrating our body's freedom! Here is one of the songs from the MoodSwings CD we will dance to that puts parts of Martin Luther King's speech to incredible music. His voice is an instrument!

Namaste,

Joanie
